Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 18 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 29 June 1916. Detached to Lewis Gun School of Instruction, 21 August 1916; rejoined Bn, 28 August 1916. Admitted to 14th Field Ambulance, 23 November 1916 (measles); transferred same day to Casualty Clearing Station; rejoined unit,24 November 1916. On Command at Pigeon School, 27 December 1916; rejoined unit, 31 December 1916. Admitted to 5th Divisional rest Station, 6 March 1917 (furuncolosis); transferred to 54th Casualty Clearing Station, 15 March 1917; to 5th General Hospital, Rouen, 16 March 1917 (boils); to England, 22 March 1917, and admitted to 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth, 23 March 1917.
