Served at Gallipoli and in France where he was gassed. Took part in the Dominion Troops Parade through London on 3 May 1919. At time of enlistment he was employed as a Steward on an "Orient" Line Passenger Liner sailing on the England-Australia route. He jumped ship in Sydney to enlist in the AIF. Played soccer for the Combined Services Team (forward) at the end of the war. |
