Military Medal 'During the advance from JEANCOURT on 18th September, 1918, an enemy strong post was holding up the advance of the left flank. Lance Corporal BEATON came up with his section, and with great bravery and initiative rushed the post single handed capturing the whole of its garrison (1 Officer and 7 men). Throughout the whole of the operation his work was of the greatest value.'
