Military Medal 'MOUQUET FARM. Did excellent work on 3rd/4th September, 1916. On 4th September, 1916, helped hold and barricade during heavy bombardment, until every man in the trench for the next 150 yards was knocked out. When ordered to fall back to he carried a wounded comrade 150 yards under heavy fire to where next barricade was being conducted.'
