Military Medal 'At BULLECOURT for gallantry and devotion to duty on April 11th 1917. He was one of a party that carried ammunition to the front line in broad daylight, through intense fire, on arriving in the trenches he immediately set about filling the Lewis Gun Magazines and collecting ammunition from casualties. he salved a Lewis Gun out of action, got it into good working order and did much execution on the enemy.'
