Military Medal 'At WESTHOEK RIDGE, 20th September, 1917. For devotion to duty. During the attack he kept in close touch with his officer and guns, and was of valuable assistance in selecting gun positions and seeing them well dug in. By his fearless moving around amongst the gun crews during severe shelling, he set a good example.'
