Medals |
Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and initiative in the attack on 8 and 9 August 1918, east of Amiens. On the first day he led his section through the village of Warfusee, although it was unknown whether it was occupied. The next day, when his platoon commander was wounded, he advanced alone and bombed the foremost enemy post, putting a machine gun out of action and capturing the crew. His keenness and energy in leading the platoon and sniping from advanced positions were worthy of high praise.'
