Wounded in action, 1 December 1915 (bruised shoulder), and admitted to 1st Light Horse Field Ambulance; transferred 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 8 December 1915 (shell shock); to HS 'Oxfordshire', 12 December 1915, and admitted to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, 15 December 1915; rejoined Bn, Tel el Kebir, 7 January 1916.
