Military Medal

'For his fine work as a scout while in the trenches near MOUQUET FARM 29th/31st August, 1916. He continually brought in valuable reports by day and night. To secure information he had to repeatedly expose himself and ran very great risk from shell fire and enemy snipers. His reports were always good, worded very clearly and concisely, and were of great assistance to me.'
