Military Medal 'Whilst the advance was more or less held up in the vicinity of PERONNE on the 1st September, 1918, this N.C.O. repeatedly went backwards and forwards through the enemy barrage and secured ammunition and rations off men who had become casualties, and throughout the attack rendered invaluable assistance to his officer and set a splendid example to his comrades by his utter disregard for danger.'
