Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry during operations from 26 to 28 August, 1918, which resulted in the capture of Foucaucourt. This non-commissioned officer was with a platoon of the right attacking company, which was held up by an enemy machine gun. He rushed the gun at the point of the bayonet, and captured the crew.'
