'From 17th to 23rd September in the YPRES Sector, Private BAIGENT whilst acting as runner showed an utter disregard of danger. Several times passing through heavy enemy barrages and by so doing enabling operations to be carried and where delay would have seriously effected same. Throughout he showed great coolness and initiative.'
