Military Medal 'For bravery and devotion to duty under trying circumstances. At BROODSEINDE on night of 7th inst. the R.A.P. was destroyed by a shell and although a heavy bombardment was being carried out and stretcher bearers were killed he devoted his attention to the stretcher cases and had them quickly removed to a safer position. During the subsequent operations he was untiring in the discharge of his duties and rendered very valuable assistance.'
