UPTON, 58th Bn (patient, 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, England), 4 October 1916: 'If Bailey comes from Richmond, Victoria, he was killed at Fleurbaix in the charge out in No Man's Land on July 19th; he was close to me[,] I saw him lying beside me. He was big, stout, broad and fat about 13 stone. He was pal of mine.'
