'At CHUIGNES on 22nd/26th August, 1918, Sapper FREDRICKSON as a linesman displayed disregard of danger and untiring energy. Under heavy shell fire he maintained a line from Brigade Forward Station to the attacking Battalion. He set a splendid example to his comrades.'

Attached to 1st Divisional Signal Company, 22 September 1915.

Found guilty, 22 February 1916, of permitting the horses in his charge to exceed a walking pace: awarded 3 days' confined to barracks.

Taken on strength of 15th Bn as Sapper, 17 March 1916.

Proceeded to France to join the British Expeditionary Force (no date recorded).

Mustered as Driver, 17 April 1916.

Admitted to 6th Field Ambulance, 14 December 1916 (laryngitis), 14 December 1916; discharged to duty, 21 December 1916.

Found guilty, 31 March 1917, of when on Active Service being absent from Tattoo roll call at 9 pm, 30 March 1917: awarded 72 hours' Field Punishment No 2.

Remustered as Sapper, 8 September 1917.

Wounded in action (second occasion), Belgium, 1 October 1917 (shrapnel wound, chest); admitted to 3rd Field Ambulance, 2 October 1917; transferred to 55th General Hospital, Boulogne, 3 October 1917; to England, 6 October 1917, and admitted to B[---?] Military Hospital, Hampshire, 7 October 1917 (chest wound: severe); transferred to 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 20 October 1917; discharged on furlough, 22 November 1917, to report to No 3 Convalescent Depot, Hurdcott, 6 December 1917.

Admitted to 1st Australian Dermatological Hospital, Bulford, 8 December 1917; discharged to Convalescent Training Depot, Parkhouse, 22 January 1918; total period of treatment for venereal disease: 46 days.

Marched in to No 1 Command Depot, Sutton Veny, 20 February 1918.

Found guilty, 8 April 1918, of being absent without leave from midnight, 26 March, to 3.45 pm, 6 April 1918: awarded 24 days' Field Punishment No 2, and forfeited 35 days' pay.
