Military Medal 'On the 8th August, 1918, at CERISY, this man was a Battery runner attached to Brigade Headquarters, and throughout the whole operations, displayed marked courage and devotion to duty under most adverse circumstances, and often under very heavy shell fire. He carried important despatches to and from batteries, showed an utter disregard for personal safety, and was an excellent example of courage, initiative and coolness.'
