Distinguished Conduct Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He so successfully organized and supervised carrying parties and dumps throughout a very difficult period, and constantly under heavy enemy shelling, that companies were never kept waiting for the requirements. His example of coolness and determination had a very good effect upon all those with whom he came in contact.'
