Meritorious Service Medal 'Orderly Room Clerk since August 1917. He has been a most conscientious and painstaking N.C.O. The circumstances of Orderly Room work since March of the present year, the constant moves, and the frequency and severity of operations have entailed work, which have made heavy demands on him. He has been untiring throughout this period and by his personal effort, has done much to ensure that information and records have been kept up to date. The policy has been followed of always collecting and compiling information and RECORDS in the forward area with the unit. During April, May and June there was seldom a set place for working - very often the most urgent of the work had to be done in the open. It has nevertheless always been efficiently and correctly done. His assistance has been invaluable throughout the whole of the difficult period since March. During these months he has not been off duty for a day.'
