Military Medal 'For gallantry in action during the operations on the SOMME between BRAY and CLERY from August 22nd to September 3rd, 1918. Sergeant GATHERCOLE has been constantly in action with his battery, and has been conspicuous for his gallant bearing under heavy hostile shell fire. This reliability under fire was of the greatest value to his battery.'
