Military Medal 'On 8th August, 1918, during the attack east of HAMMEL, Private GIDDINS, a Company Signaller established an O.L. Light Station after four previous attempts had failed owing to the heavy enemy barrage at the time. This station he maintained without assistance throughout the day. his determination and devotion to duty were of great value to his Company Commander and he set an excellent example of bravery to his comrades.'
