' For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. This warrant officer kept well in front, guiding and controlling the advance, and althought twice wounded, collected his men and led them roung the safest way. Later, he collected and detonated enemy bombs and placed them in dumps, a task which was carried out at great personal risk. He was of the greates assistance in consolidating the line'
