Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when in charge of a party of guides. He showed a remarkable knowledge of the country, directing parties who had wandered from the track, and leading them to their posts, though the night was dark and the wather boisterous, and the shelling continuous.'
