Wounded in action, 13 January 1917 (gun shot wound, left leg), transferred to No 2 Australian Casualty Clearing Station; to Ambulance Train No 24, 16 January 1917, and admitted to 3rd Canadian General Hospital, Boulogne, 17 January 1917; transferred to England, 20 January 1917, and admitted to 2nd Southern General Hospital, Bristol, 21 January 1917 (wound: severe).
