Marched in to Engineers Training Depot, Brightlingsea, 18 February 1918. Proceeded overseas to France, 12 April 1918; taken on strength, 12th Field Company Engineers, 18 April 1918. Detached to Australian Corps Headquarters, 12 July 1918; rejoined unit from detachment, 1 August 1918. Appointed Lance Corporal, 5 March 1919. On furlough to Paris, 11 April 1919; rejoined unit, 22 April 1919. Marched out to England for return to Australia, 9 May 1919.
