Wounded in France, 10 July 1918; invalided to England; while in London was a member of the guard of honour for King George V at the opening of Australia House.

Also served in World War II as NX12671, 1st Australian Railway Construction Company. Enlisted Paddington, Sydney, 13 April 1940; embarked from Fremantle for Palestine on board HM Transport 3, 22 September 1940. Invalided back to Australia (gun shot wound, right thigh), and discharged, 12 June 1942. Total active service: 341 days.
