Military Medal 'On 16th April 1917 during a heavy bombardment of 101st Howitzer Battery position near NOREUIL an enemy shell demolished the telephone pit and partially buried Gunner GLEN (who was on telephone duty) and other telephonists. He freed himself and the other men and in spite of the heavy shelling showed great coolness and devotion to duty in remaining at his post and re-establishing telephone communication.'
