Admitted to 1st Australian Dermatological Hospital, 21 May 1916 (venereal disease); transferred to 3rd Australian General Hospital, Cairo, 16 June 1916 (gonorrhoea and rheumatism); to England, 24 June 1916, and admitted to 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth, 3 July 1916 (rheumatism); transferred to Dysentery Section, Barton-on-Sea, 25 July 1916; discharged on furlough, 11 January 1917, to report to No 1 Command Depot, Perham Downs.
