'At LAGNICOURT, FRANCE, on 15th April 1917, Pte. GOVERS rendered valuable assistance during the operations. He volunteered for and carried out several daring and hazardous patrols returning with valuable information of enemy movements and dispositions,. Later he pushed forward and cleared three dug outs which were occupied by the enemy. His fearless courage and contempt of danger are worthy of very high praise.'
