Sentence commuted to 2 years' Imprisonment with Hard Labour, 5 June 1918. Unexpired portion sentence suspended from 13 September 1918.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Ormonde', 16 June 1919; discharged (termination of period of enlistment), Perth, 16 August 1919.
