Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry during an attack. As intelligence officer he led the battalion through dense fog from the first to the second forming ujp position. He then went forward and carried out a daring reconnaissance under heavy machine gun fire. During the advance he practically single handed rushed a machine gun, capturing ten prisoners. and later allied and led forward the flanking battalion. He set a splendid example of cool daring and initiative.'
