'On the ight 30th September, 1917, near WESTHOEK Driver GREEN showed great coolness under heavy shell fire. The limber and one of the mules was hit by shell, the mule being wounded about the head. The harness was badly broken by pieces of shell. He pulled up the team, repaired the harness temporarily despite the heavy shelling and by remaining with his team pacified the frightened animals and saved the limber and team of four.'
