War service: Western Front Embarked Sydney on HMAT 'Suevic', 10 November 1916; disembarked Devonport, 30 January 1917; marched into 5th Training Bn, Rollestone, 30 January 1917. Proceeded to France through Southampton, 22 May 1917; marched into 2nd Australian Divisional Base Depot, Havre, 23 May 1917; taken on strength of 19th Battalion, 10 June 1917; proceeded on leave to the United Kingdom, 2 February 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 20 February 1918. Admitted to 2/3rd HC Field Ambulance, 19 April 1918, and transferred to 47th Casualty Clearing Station (shrapnel wound, right arm); to Ambulance Train, 19 April 1918; admitted to 3rd General Hospital, Le Treport, 20 April 1918; to Ambulance Train '15', 6 May 1918.
