Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and initiative in the vicinity of Blaugies, on 8th November 1918. Sent out with his troops to gain inforamtion of our own infantry line, he galloped over open ground in full view of the enemy for nearly a mile under heavy artillery fire. He kept on until he had performed his taks. He showed splendid courage and fine leadership throughout, and was the means of inspiring all ranks with whom he came in contact.'
