Medals |
Military Medal 'For services in action and devotion to duty. During the actions in the defence of LAMOTTE on April last, this N.C.O., in the capacity of Scout and liaison, when the Unit was suddenly thrown in the ... the enemy advance with dispositions ... obscure, Corporal GRIEVE, showing much courage and initiative went forward alone, brought about a very successful reconnaissance, thereby enabling the Battalion to advantageously take up advance positions. Throughout the operations his work proved invaluable, doubtless was instrumental in the ultimate success of the unit in that section. Later at STRAZEELE in June, LIHONS and HERLEVILLE WOOD in August, his work was of the highest order.'
