Embarked Alexandria on HMT 'Huntspill' and proceeded to join the British Expeditionary Force, 7 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 14 June 1916. Admitted to 26th General Hospital, Etaples, 6 July 1916; discharged to 4th Divisional Base Depot, 8 July 1916; taken on strength of 51st Bn, 23 July 1916. Wounded in action, 14-16 August 1916; admitted to 3rd Canadian Stationary Hospital, Boulogne, 19 August 1916 (shrapnel wound, right upper arm and forearm). Embarked Boulogne on HS 'Antwerpen' and proceeded to England for further treatment, 21 August 1916; admitted to 2nd Eastern General Hospital, Brighton, 28 August 1916; transferred to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 1 November 1916; discharged to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 9 November 1916.
