Disembarked Alexandria, 27 February 1916. Taken on strength, 3rd Field Company Engineers, Tel el Kebir, 22 March 1916.

Proceeded from Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 18 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 29 June 1916.

Wounded in action, 12 August 1916; admitted to 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station (gun shot wound, legs, chin and knee); transfrred by Ambulance Train to 13th Stationary Hospital, Boulogne, 13 August 1916; died of wounds, 4 September 1916.

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

No trace could be found of any relatives; medals issued to friend, Mrs Emma Mitchell, 13 Abbattoirs Cottage, Gepps Cross, Adelaide, South Australia.
