Embarked Sydney on HMAT 'Seang Bee', 11 February 1915.

Disembarked Malta from HS 'Canada', 14 June 1915, and admitted to Floriana Hospital (injury; left foot); detailed for Permanent Beach Party, Gallipoli, 8 July 1915; marched into Base Details, Mustapha, after disembarkation from HS 'Acanius', 5 September 1915. Embarked Alexandria on SS 'Ionian', 9 September 1915; rejoined Beach Party, Gallipoli, 16 September 1915.

Admitted to hospital, 5 October 1915; rejoined Beach Party, 9 October 1915; rejoined unit from detachment, Lemnos, 24 December 1915. Disembarked Alexandria from HMT 'Huntsgreen', 22 December 1915.

Embarked Alexandria on HMT 'Ivernia' and proceeded to join the British Expeditionary Force, 22 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 28 March 1916.

Admitted to 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 3 July 1916 (gun shot wound, stomach).
