Embarked Fremantle on HMAT 'Boorara', 19 May 1917; disembarked Suez, 20 June 1917, and marched into Isolation Camp, Moascar; marched into Anzac Reserve Depot, Abbassia, 16 July 1917; posted to 4th Battalion, 23 August 1917; taken on strength of unit, 26 August 1917; detached to guard, Tel-el-Fara, 21 October 1917; rejoined unit from detachment, 29 October 1917; to be Lance Corporal, 9 November 1917; reverts to ranks at own request, 15 April 1918.

Admitted to Field Ambulance, 23 April 1918; transferred to 14th Australian General Hospital, Port Said, 2 May 1918; to Desert Motorised Corps Rest Camp, 18 May 1918; discharged to unit, Abbassia, 29 May 1918; marched into 5th Brigade Details, Moascar, 25 June 1918; marched into 1st Light Horse Training Regiment, 24 July 1918; moved out from unit, 26 July 1918; taken on strength of 2nd Light Horse Regiment, 27 July 1918.

Admitted to hospital, 6 October 1918; transferred to 34th Combined Clearing Hospital, Jerusalem, 31 October 1918 (bacillary dysentry).

Died in hospital, 6 November 1918. Buried by Chaplain S. Evans in Military Cemetery, Jerusalem, Grave 178 Plot B.
