Admitted to 6th Field Ambulance, 4 December 1915 (cardiac dilation), and transferred to 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station; to HS 'Dongola', Mudros, 10 December 1915; disembarked Alexandria, 13 December 1915, and admitted to 2nd Australian General Hospital, Ghezireh (cardiac dilation: mild); transferred to Convalescent Hospital, Helouan, 20 January 1916 (debility); transferred to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, 13 March 1916; invalided to Australia, 10 April 1916 (cardiac dilation).

Commenced return to Australia from Suez on board HT 'Runic', 11 April 1916; discharged (medically unfit), Melbourne, 8 August 1916.
