Military Medal 'During the attack of PLYGON WOOD east of YPRES on September 20th, 1917, this N.C.O. did excellent work. He took part in the capture of FITZCLARENCE FARM, and led his men with great skill and determination until objective was gained. On the night 20/21st he led a patrol out in front of our line, broke up a hostile post, which was giving us trouble, killed the officer in charge and brought his body in for identification purposes.'
