War service: Egypt, Gallipoli, Western Front Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 4 September 1915. Reported for duty, 7th Field Ambulance, Tel el Kebir, 12 January 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 14 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 19 March 1916. Admitted to 1st Australian Dermatological Hospital, Bulford, while on leave, 10 February 1917 (venereal disease); transferred to Military Hospital, Parkhouse, 1 March 1917; marched in to Army Medical Corps Training Depot, Parkhouse, 24 May 1917; total period of treatment for venereal disease: 104 days. Proceeded overseas to France, 14 June 1917; rejoined 7th Field Ambulance, 22 June 1917. Attached for temporary duty to 6th Australian Field Ambulance, 4 October 1917; rejoined 7the Field Ambulance from detachment, 11 October 1917.
