Military Medal 'For bravery and devotion to duty at ANZAC RIDGE 9YPRES Sector) on 26th September, 1917. These men [507 W.E. HALL, 1769 W.G. MULLIGAN, 4581 W. SNEATH] worked their machine guns under very heavy enemy artillery fire and displayed the utmost coolness and disregard to personal danger. Throughout the whole operation they set a fine example to their comrades of cheerfulness and devotion to duty.'
