Wounded in action, 26 September 1917 (gun shot wound, left foot), and admitted to 6th Australian Field Ambulance, and transferred to 3rd Canadian Casualty Clearing Station; to 14th General Hospital, Wimerux, 27 September 1917; to No 1 Convalescent Depot, Boulogne, 16 October 1917; discharged to Rest Camp, Ecault, 10 November 1917; to Base Depot, Havre, 12 November 1917; rejoined Bn, in the field, 25 January 1919. Appointed Lance Corporal, 12 September 1918. Transferred to 59th Bn, 25 September 1918. Wounded in action (second occasion), 29 September 1918 (multiple gun shot wounds), and admitted to 8th Australian Field Ambulance. Died of wounds, 30 September 1918.
