Military Medal 'During the attack on POLYGON WOOD, east of HOOGE, on 20/21st September 1917, Cpl. HAMILTON and Pte. BURGESS were instrumental in the capture of a strong post on our left flank. With great tact and fearlessness they moved round to its rear and gallantly rushed it, causing its garrison of some dozen Huns to surrender.'
