Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 15 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 21 March 1916.

Admitted to 5th Australian Field Ambulance, 2 January 1917 (septic left arm), and transferred to Anzac Corps Rest Station, and then to 36th Casual;ty Clearing Station; to Ambulance Train, 3 January 1917, and admitted to No 1 General Hospital, Etretat; to England, 16 February 1917, and admitted to Brook War Hospital (septic arm, and moderate excema); transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 4 April 1917; discharged on furlough, 10 April 1917, to report to Training Depot, Weymouth, 25 April 1917.

Proceeded overseas to France, 10 June 1917; rejoined Bn, in the field, 25 June 1917.

On leave to England, 17 March 1918; rejoined Bn from leave, 2 April 1918.

Killed in action, 27 april 1918.
