Embarked Sydney on HMAT 'Hororata', 14 June 1917; disembarked Liverpool, 26 August 1917; marched into 11th Training Bn, Larkhill, 27 August 1917.

Found guilty at Durrington, 17 September 1917, of being absent from special roll call, 9.00 pm, 16 September 1917: awarded 4 days' Field Punishment No 2.

Found to be absent without leave, Larkhill, 5 October 1917. Declared an illegal absentee by Court of Inquiry, Fovant, 27 October 1917. Transferred to 15th Bn Reinforcements, Fovant, 29 November 1918 (whilst an illegal absentee).

Discharged from the Australian Imperial Force in consequence of desertion, 1 April 1920.
