Military Cross

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Although wounded, he remained in charge of his section for over forty-eight hours, displaying courage and endurance, which deeply impressed the men of his company. His wound was of a sufficiently severe nature to cause him to be evacuated as soon as he reached the dressing station.'
