Wounded in action, 23 July 1916 (gun shot wound, chest), and admitted to 1st Field Ambulance, 23 July 1916, and transferred to 1st South Midlands Casualty Clearing station; to Ambulance Train No 19, 24 July 1916, and admitted to 1st Australian General Hospital, Rouen, 24 July 1916 (gun shot wound, chest and left arm); transferred to 1st Convalescent Depot, Rouen, 25 July 1916; to Base Depot, Etaples, 27 July 1916; rejoined unit, in the field, 10 August 1916.

Admitted to 2nd Field Ambulance, 20 August 1916; transferred to 3rd Casualty Clearing Station, 20 August 1916 (burns to hands and face: cleaning out dug-outs, La Boiselle: soldier not to blame); to 26th General Hospital, Etaples, 21 August 1916 (burns, hands and neck); to 6th Convalescent Depot, 24 August 1916; rejoined unit, in the field, 3 September 1916.

Wounded in action, 25 February 1917 (multiple shrapnel wounds, legs and left thigh); admitted to 1st Field Ambulance, and transferred to 45th Casualty Clearing Station, 26 February 1917; transferred to Ambulance Train No 31, 26 February 1917, and admitted to St John Ambulance Brigade Hospital, Etaples, 27 February 1917 (multiple gun shot wounds, legs).
