Meritorious Service Medal 'During the operations east of YPRES from 22nd September to 12th October, 1917, Corporal HARN (then Lance Corporal) was attached to the 1st Divisional Pack Train. On several occasions he was given charge of a convoy of pack horses loaded with ammunition to take forward and though enemy shell fire was severe on no occasion did he fail to reach his destination. Owing to his sound judgment and gallant leadership on several critical occasions the supply of ammunition to the forward dumps was maintained. His work has always been of a high order and his devotion to duty very marked.'
