Distinguished Service Order 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during operations which resulted in the capture of a village. Under his direction and supervision four brigades were made and thrown over a river under hevy shell fire. This largely contributed to the success of the attack. The coolness and determination of this officer were most marked.'
